GTII History

As most of you know I was concerned about my GT, it seemed lonely so I bought a GTII. It came from Rick Higgins in Ft. Myers Fl. I will be posting photos of the project as it goes along. I can't wait to get started on it I am sure this project will go much easier then the GT project with the help of everybody at the Bradley GT car club! Thanks for all of your help in advance. ed note: 5 years later it has not gone easier or faster then the GT it has been just as slow if not worse. Once the car was home it was rougher then it looked in the woods. Rick put a new pan under it with a good link pin front end and put a new non-broken windshield in it. Now that I have it body off (for the fourth time) I sand blasted the pan and found only minor damage. The battery tray is rusted as is expected so it will have to be patched. The pan is going to be POR-15'ed and all new brake system, clutch cable, steering stab, and that pain in the ass rubber steering thing. Once the chassis is complete (which should be any day now) I am going to move on to the body. The body has been stripped of all glass, trim, wiring, doors and other parts. We are first going to work on making it fit cleanly on the pan. Then a cage will be built to better support the gas shocks and hinges so there is no more stress on the fiberglass. Also the windshield will be changed to the 240sx glass. Also the top will be glassed on to give it a cleaner look. Once all is fitted it is paint time. Right now I am thinking HOK candy yellow with dual silver stripes. I will try to updat the photos in the gallery and info here as the project progresses. |
